Executive Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to Ernesettle Community School, where children gain a lifelong love of learning.

This website provides you with a flavour of the exciting opportunities and experiences that we provide within our friendly, highly aspirant and successful ‘Outstanding’ school.

Our vision statement…

…always striving to be outstanding, transforming the aspirations of a community.

Caring and thoughtful, Ernesettle children are innovators, builders, artists and improvers. They are risk-takers, problem solvers and writers. As pursuers of excellence, they aspire to be the very best they can be in whatever paths they decide to take always remembering to… ‘go out in the world and do well, but more importantly, go out in the world and do GOOD...’

At Ernesettle Community School, we aim to help our children achieve the highest possible standard and provide a rich, broad and balanced curriculum. Inspiring experiences and visits are a vital part of our children’s education. Our school has a wealth of resources to engage the children in activities which will prepare them for the next generation of learning.

We seek to help our children develop lively, creative, enquiring minds and provide them with the skills and knowledge which will prepare them for successful, healthy lives in the ever-changing world in which they live.

Our high quality and committed staff provide a first-class educational experience for your children. We aim to develop very positive and productive relationships with our community and friends. Our ‘Open Door’ policy ensures that there is always one of our team available to answer any questions or solve any problems that may arise.

In November 2019, we were delighted to be deemed an ‘Outstanding’ school in all areas of the Ofsted framework. Inspectors found…

‘Leaders, staff and governors are relentless in their pursuit of excellence, high expectations and aspirations permeate the school.’

‘Pupils behaviour is impeccable. They told us that poor behaviour is simply not acceptable. This is because a culture of learning is ingrained in the fabric of the school.’

‘Teachers provide a curriculum that enables pupils to flourish.’

Having been in the top 10 schools in the city for the last 9 years, the Regional Winner of the National Pupil Premium Award, published as a model of best practice in the government’s Parliamentary Review and the winner of the Education Business Awards for SEN Inclusion (2018), Most Improved School (2018) and the Educational Visits Award (2019), we are very proud of what we continue to achieve.

Please enjoy our DfE Performance Data, the full Ofsted report, feedback from families in Ofsted’s ParentView and our various other successes via the ‘‘Ofsted & School Performance’ page.

A very warm welcome awaits you here at Ernesettle Community School and I look forward to meeting and working with you and your family in the future.
