    Aaron, Executive Headteacher of Ernesettle Community School and CEO of The Inspire Multi Academy Trust (South West), was appointed when Ernesettle Community School was deemed to be requiring special measures in May 2010. Within 18 months, the school was graded as 'Good with Outstanding features' by Ofsted. In April 2013, Aaron was seconded to part time for two years to open Devon's first primary free school, Marine Academy Primary; the academy became the south west's first 'Outstanding' free school in June 2015. In February 2018, Aaron was designated as a National Leader in Education (NLE).

  • Miss O Bartlett

    Miss O Bartlett

    Olivia, is currently the Headteacher at Ernesettle Community School as well as the Trust Education Champion. She has over 13 years teaching experience across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Olivia has a varied leadership career, previously the Head of School at Tor Bridge Primary. She is fully committed to ensuring the school strives to provide an outstanding primary education to every pupil, in order to improve their life chances. Olivia has been the Lead Moderator for the Local Authority and has been part of the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 moderation teams for the last 9 years. Olivia successfully completed the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) in 2022.

  • Mrs L Hoodless - Chair

    Liz, previously the school's Educational Support Staff and Operations Manager at Ernesettle Community School, has over 20 years' experience in governance. In 2023, Liz was appointed as Chair of Governors. She has extensive knowledge of both the school and wider community. Liz has a wealth of school experience, excellent community links and is able to contribute insightful ideas in order to continually move forward. Liz is passionate about supporting the school to provide an outstanding education so that the pupils can make informed decisions about their futures.

  • Mr A Wilson – Vice Chair

    Having trained at Marine Academy Primary and supported through his journey to becoming a leader there, Alistair is an experienced and knowledgeable professional in Primary Education. He is currently a Deputy Headteacher at a school in Exeter. Alistair is also Trust Leader for raising Primary Standards across the Ted Wragg Trust and is keen to bring along his expertise to the Ernesettle Community School and continue to improve our children's education. Alistair shows great commitment, passion and enthusiasm for education and strives firmly believes that all children will succeed.

  • Mrs J Brimming

    Jen is a valued colleague from the secondary sector within our community. As Principal of Marine Academy Secondary, one of our key feeder schools, Jen brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the educational needs and aspirations of local families. Her background in leading a large and diverse secondary setting gives her a unique perspective and skill set that enriches our work at Ernesettle. Jen's commitment to collaboration and community-focused education makes her a fantastic addition to the team

  • Mrs P Frankis

    Paula is a Senior Health Care Assistant at a local residential home. She has been a governor at Ernesettle Community School since 2011. Paula's role on the Local Governing Body is to rigorously monitor Safeguarding and Health & Safety. Paula's daughter started her educational journey at the school in the Early Years Foundation Stage and Paula still has strong links within the local community. Paula is proud to be part of the school community and able to provide support and challenge in her role on the governing board.

  • Mr R Lunn

    Richard has a passion and interest in providing the best for young people, which he has done through various jobs and voluntary positions throughout his career. Richard is also a parent at Ernesettle Community school, wishing to provide a good role model for his daughter, take an active interest in the school and help shape the path for the children's futures.

  • Mrs M Treliving

    Michelle joined the board as a Parent Governor in January 2019. Having been a parent at the school for 12 years, she is a firm believer in the school's ethos and is a valued member of the local community. Michelle finds working alongside the teachers, to ensure children are learning to the best of their abilities, very rewarding. Michelle is also an active member of the school PTA, through which she has built strong relationships between teachers, families and the school.

    Sandi, a parent governor, represents and is a valued member of the local community. Sandi brings media and ICT expertise to the trust and has been heavily involved in community and in-school events, she has been a governor at Ernesettle Community School since 2016.

    Millie is the Clerk to governors for Ernesettle Community School and is also the school Administrator for Ernesettle Community School. Millie joined the Trust in June 2021 and was originally based at Tor Bridge Primary before joining us at Ernesettle Community School in September 2021. Millie has recently completed her Level 3 qualification in Business Administration and is developing her skillset by the day. She is an enthusiastic, welcoming and friendly member of staff who is committed to Trust.
