The document identifying the key knowledge that children need to have learned by the end of an Area of Study.

Curriculum Letters

Each term a curriculum letter is sent home to parents outlining the ‘Area of Study’ that the children will be studying over that term.

Home Learning

Home Learning is distributed every week and comprises of a ‘Home Learning Menu’. The Home Learning Menu includes six weekly tasks that has been specifically chosen to support your child’s understanding of their curriculum.

Early Reading and Phonics

At Ernesettle Community School, we begin teaching children to read from Nursery which is later built upon as they move through Early Years and Key Stage One.

At Ernesettle Community School, we value Reading and place it at the heart of our curriculum by ensuring our text selection both complements and enriches the wider curriculum.
